Euphoria “Part 1: Rue” Special Episode

The last episode of the TV series "Euphoria" aired on Aug. 4, 2019. Ever since then, fans have been waiting for a second season. The second season has not yet been released, and it won’t be until 2021. However, on Dec. 6, 2020 the first special episode of “Euphoria,” titled “Part 1: Rue,” will be released.

Nafishwa Mlaki, Sr., fan of “Euphoria” is one of millions of viewers ready and excited for the special episodes.

“I’m excited for it just because I’m curious about what they will be about and what route the creators are going to take,” said Mlaki.

The season one finale ended leaving viewers questioning the fate of Rue, who is played by Zendaya, as she relapsed and entered a surreal musical fantasia that left some fans convinced that she was dead. The cast of the show quickly shut down those theories and announced that Rue was alive.

The aftermath of Rue’s relapse will be shown in “Part 1: Rue” a special Christmas episode. The release date of the second special episode has not yet been revealed. “Part 1: Rue” is only one of two new "Euphoria" episodes that will tie the first and second seasons together.

Mlaki has some theories of what will happen in season two.

“I think that Rue would probably fall into a deep depression since Jules is gone now, but I think the guy she met at therapy [Ali], will teach her that she doesn’t need Jules to stay drug free. I’m also thinking that once Rue learns this, Jules will show up out of nowhere because why not. As for Nate and Maddy, I’m not sure what’ll happen to them. I think/hope that Maddy learns that he isn’t good for her and leaves him, but then I have to remember that even when he treated her badly she stuck with him. I hope Kat is now in a relationship with Ethan. I think Nate’s dad's video tapes will get released somehow.”

In Sept. of 2020, Zendaya became the youngest person to win an Emmy for best lead actress in a drama. "Euphoria" was nominated for six categories in total, taking home awards in original music and lyrics and contemporary makeup in addition to Zendaya’s win.

Zendaya’s award-winning acting skills are bound to be reflected in these eagerly awaited special episodes of “Euphoria.”
